Students at Thornbury High Make Documentary About Supporting Artists and Songwriters

A new documentary has been created by Year 12 students at Thornbury High, Melbourne about supporting artists within the music inudstry.  The documentary was created and produced by Year 12 students and looks at issues of illegal file-sharing in the context of the need to support artists and songwriters.  The students also interview fledging Australian artist mcArtney.

  1. This is a fantastic effort by the kids! well done. A really punchy little piece about why we should be looking after our artists – as one of the kids in the film says “don’t make our artists do volunteer work!”…

  2. if more people got it that illegal filesharing is taking away incentives for artists to produce their art, maybe they’d stop? or maybe not? is it a reflection of a society that just wants everything for nothing and doesn’t really give a damn that people making the music they listen to struggle to pay the rent….
